One Floral's story began in the 1950s when Rita and Andy Olsthoorn left De Lier, the greenhouse hub of the Netherlands, to move to Ontario, Canada.

In 1965, the couple established Lakeshore Produce with a group of 4 like-minded Dutch immigrants. The company that would later become One Floral.

Initially focusing on logistics and warehousing for local retailers, the company quickly evolved and ventured into marketing their own plants and collaborating with growers.

Overcoming challenges along the way, they embraced innovation and pioneered year-round flower cultivation while also brokering tender fruit. In the 1980s, Andy Olsthoorn assumed sole ownership and expanded into hydroponics.

In 1989, the company propelled their growth by strategically serving the floral retail community, acquiring additional greenhouses, forging partnerships with prominent retailers in the US and Canada, and introducing fresh-cut flowers.

Lakeshore’s leadership steered the company through an era of remarkable expansion.

The merger of Lakeshore and Seacliff Farms in 2010 marked the birth of the One Floral brand, expanding our greenhouse capacity and introducing our renowned Lasting Beauty brand of hydrangeas.

Building on this success, our partnership with Schroll in 2015 further elevated our offerings, providing customers with unparalleled floral beauty.

In 2018, investments infused our growth trajectory with renewed energy, enabling us to expand our greenhouse presence even further.

And in 2022, our alliance with Living Creations brought exclusive genetics of Paniculata Hydrangeas, solidifying our commitment to offering top-performing varieties.
